Vitamin D is Absorbed better with Fats

This is a very important vitamin. Not only is it really our sunlight vitamin, which we are missing out on unfortunately with the change in our seasons as we’re going into fall and winter, but we’re also not getting as much sunlight, so that’s where Vitamin D comes into play. But Vitamin D is actually the only vitamin that’s actually in the form of a hormone, which is really cool if you think about it. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means it’s better absorbed if you consume fats with it and all you need to take is just one tablet one time per day. It doesn’t matter what time of day, and if you consume that with some fats that you’re currently eating, then that’s a perfect mixture. It’s better absorbed that way.

Difference Between Vitamin D3 and D2

One thing with our Vitamin D that we supplement with and promote to our clients and our patients is that we use Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable, but it’s better absorbed by the body. Most commonly found in supplements over the counter or online is Vitamin D2, and that one’s just not as absorbed as well and it’s not as beneficial for our bodies, which is why vitamin D3 is a much better source of Vitamin D.

Vitamin D, not only is it beneficial for your immune system, it has found to be very beneficial for those who suffer from any type of depression. Especially as the seasons change, we’re not around as much sunlight, so people get a seasonal dip in their moods.
